Rizhao Polytechnic was founded in 1987 as the third vocational high school in Rizhao. In 1993 it was upgraded to Rizhao Economic School. In 1998 , it was approved by the Ministry of Education to become one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province. It is a national model higher vocational college and the first group of backbone model vocational colleges in Shandong Province. The college has been successively named as the national science and technology achievements key promotion project technology relying unit and Shandong Province High-skilled Talent Appraisal Base are excellent institutions for assessing the level of talents training in vocational colleges, double-excellent institutions for assessing campus civilization and moral education work, and outstanding institutions of higher education and the typical experience of graduate employment in universities across the country.
Rizhao Polytechnic is a public institution for tertiary education in Rizhao, Shandong province, China, specializing in engineering and technical majors. The college has around 14,000 students and 900 teachers and is located north of the University City in Donggang District.
RZPT has established the friendly cooperative relationship with 106 government organizations, colleges, and universities, Educational Institutions and Enterprises from 24 nations and regions. It jointly established School of Hyundai Auto with Hyundai Motor Group of South Korea; and jointly educate international talents in intelligent manufacturing, software testing and application, automobile maintenance, construction engineering with DMG (Germany), HP (USA), ShinSung University (South Korea), Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University (Malaysia) respectively. It has over 400 overseas students from USA, South Korea, Australia, Chile, Brazil, Ghana, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia having been learning here. By now, It has been organizing International Chinese Language Camp for 11 continuous years, CHINA-ASEAN Overseas Student Exchange Camp for 2 years, and Shandong-Taiwan Innovation, Originality and Entrepreneurship Camp for 4 times with totally over 500 students learning Chinese language, culture, or studying regional economic development, which has become a brand of Rizhao international education exchange.
